The stray dog problem

Although there’s been a decline in the number of stray dogs in the United Kingdom in recent years, up to twelve stray dogs a day face being put down because their owners have not updated microchip details. It’s thought that 1 in every 8 stray dogs turned in to kennels were most likely once beloved family pets, now facing death if their owners cannot claim them due to erroneous microchip data. Dog owners in the UK are urged to update their pets’ microchip details on a regular basis.
