Over a Quarter of Dog Owners Admit They Don’t Restrain Pets in the Car

New research has found that pet owners are not securing their pets, with over a quarter admitting they never restrain their dogs when travelling in the car.

The research, released by Direct Line Pet Insurance reveals that over one fifth of vets have witnessed dogs die as a result of injuries sustained when travelling in a car without being restrained.

Vets recommend a dog seat belt and harness, crate/cage or a barrier in between the boot and the back seat to reduce the risk of distraction whilst driving.
