Man banned after three dogs die in hot car

Jonathan Theobald is no longer allowed to keep animals until 2026 because he left his three dogs, two Staffordshire Bull Terriers and a Stafford cross, in a hot Volkswagen, without ventilation or water, for five hours while working out at the gym. All of the dogs died. He was also given an 18-week prison sentence and will have to pay £1,900 in fines. He had one similar previous offense that led to the death of other dogs. An examiner states that the dogs would have panicked and possibly suffered seizures before their death.
